November-December 2018 - Holiday Basket Drive - Each holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) The Caring Center provides complete holiday dinners for families in need. We would like to fund 350 baskets this year. Can you help with a donation for a holiday basket or make a basket for us?
November 1 - 17, 2018 - Coat Drive 2018 - Each year Royal Cleaners in Lebanon collects coats for kids and adults in need through donations from people in the community. Generally, they are looking for children's coats, but will accept any gently-used donation that come their way. After the coats are inspected and cleaned, they are taken to The Caring Center for those in need. Gently used coats may be dropped off at the cart in front of Royal Cleaners at 503 W. Main Street, Lebanon. Hours are 7 am to 5:30 pm Monday-Friday, and from 8 am - noon on Saturday.
Saturday, December 8, 2018 - Gingerbread House Decorating Event - Start a new and meaningful family tradition and get into the holiday spirit! Our gingerbread house decorating experience is sure to be a hit with the entire family! The Caring Center will be accepting canned food donations, as well as new or gently used toy donations during this event. We encourage a minimum of one donation per person.
November - December 2018 - Family FUN PAKS - The Caring Center provides 150 Family FUN PAKs to bring families together to create memories. FUN stands for 'Families Uniting Now' and PAKs stand for 'Parents and Kids.' Help us by purchasing items for a Family FUN PAK.
November - December 2018 - Teen Giving Tree - The Caring Center is the only organization in Boone County who provides gifts for teens during the holiday season. Help us by purchasing items for teens.
November 30 & December 1, 2018 - Classic Reruns Christmas Sale - Mark your calendars for our annual two day holiday sale! We'll have Christmas trees and decorations, collectibles, jewelry and gift items, holiday clothing, and many more surprises!
Saturday, February 9, 2019 - Charity Gala Casino Night - Please join us for a Red Dress Gala and Casino Night! Enjoy an evening of fun and games, while raising money for The Caring Center of Boone County. The main event will consist of cocktails, a plated dinner, live auction and casino games.
Who We Are
The Caring Center in Lebanon, Indiana, works to stabilize families in crisis and to move those caught in poverty towards self-sufficiency. We are the umbrella organization for programs helping the needy of Boone County, Indiana. As the programs offered have evolved, we have also grown and developed. We are overseen by a Board of Directors, and have an Executive Director charged with supervising these programs and coordinating the caring work of our many volunteers.
We help families and individuals living in generational and situational poverty and those who are food insecure. Services that are available at the Caring Center are food , clothing, personal care items, household items, furniture, etc. (View the monthly needs.) We also offer Transitional Housing, Community Gardens, Cooking Club, Table Talk, Life Skills classes, including Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin'-By-World, and we serve as a Salvation Army Extension Unit.
The Caring Center serves thousands every year through the compassionate care of scores of donors and volunteers. The Caring Center can receive and store frozen food, including meat in large quantities. Donations to the food pantry are greatfully accepted. View this month's Caring Center needs.
