Important Updates as of 3-30-20
The Caring Center Will Remain Open Normal Hours
The Caring Center is an essential business (actually an essential nonprofit) and will remain open normal hours to serve families and individuals in need in Boone County during the Indiana Stay-At-Home Order issued by the Governor of Indiana today. (However, Classic Reruns is closed and will remain closed until further notice.) The Caring Center will continue to have pre-boxed food for pickup (1230 Ransdell Court, Lebanon, IN 46052) during normal hours of operation, and we will be handing out extra items to families with children.
Due to the Stay-At-Home Order, we will have drop-offs for food pantry donations at just two locations: Akard True Value Hardware (non-perishable donations only) and The Caring Center. Watch our Facebook page and our website for information on our food pantry needs, or please consider an online donation.
Delivery to Elderly and Sick in Lebanon on Tuesdays
We have volunteers who will be delivering pre-boxed food on Tuesdays to the elderly and sick living within the city limits of Lebanon. Deliveries will take place from noon-3 pm on Tuesdays, and the boxed food will be left at the front door (the volunteer will not enter the home). Orders for the pre-boxed food must be placed by the end of day (2 pm) on Mondays by calling The Caring Center (765-482-2020).
Food Pantry Information
Needs Update 3-30-20: We are running low on tuna, and it has been added to our needs list. Donations can be dropped off at our drop off locations at The Caring Center or Akard True Value Hardware during normal business hours, or you can purchase online (using your favorite online shopping method) and ship directly to The Caring Center (1230 Ransdell Court, Lebanon, IN 46052). OR, you can make a donation online.
As of 3-16-20, in addition to the pre-boxed food mentioned below, we will be handing out extra items to families with children, and we are in need of additional items. Please visit our Monthly Needs page for the list and ways to help.
Beginning Friday, March 13, 2020, The Caring Center will have pre-boxed food for pickup at The Caring Center during normal hours of operation until further notice. Looking for the list of items that we need? Visit our Monthly Needs page for the latest list of items that we need for the Food Pantry. Looking for our drop off locations? View drop off locations. Please watch this space and our Facebook page for updates. Thank you!
No Non-Food Pantry Donations
It has been strongly suggested that The Caring Center not accept any donations except those needed for the food pantry at this time (the food pantry items are listed on our Needs page). If it's something that you can hold on to until it's safe again for us to accept those, that would be wonderful. Thank you!
