Our History

Project Help (now known as The Caring Center) was established in the early 1980's when a small group of people from St. Peter's church formed a committee to distribute food and clothing to the needy. Learn more...

Monthly Needs

Each month we post a list of "Monthly Needs" (on our website and on The Caring Center Facebook page)—these are items that The Caring Center needs to help the individuals and families that we serve. Your help in keeping our shelves stocked with these items is greatly appreciated!

Volunteer/Help

Mobile Sort

Are you looking for a fun way for your organization or volunteers to help The Caring Center? The Mobile Sort may be the perfect option!

The process of sorting the massive amounts of donations that The Caring Center receives on a daily basis is a time consuming task for our regular volunteers. However, when the process is broken down into smaller group sorts, it becomes much more manageable. We send our truck filled with donated items so that your group can sort and organize for us. It's a project that can be done with social distancing and proper safety protocols!

If your church, book club, neighborhood, or any other group would like to host their own Mobile Sort, please contact The Caring Center. We will bring the truck loaded with donated items to you and help you coordinate the details.

Take a look at the process to learn more: Mobile Sort Procedures (PDF).
