Meet Our Board

Mike Einterz
Mike has served on the Caring Center Board for over 10 years, and is the current Board President. A graduate of Wabash College and I U Law school, he is a practicing attorney for over 35 years. He and his wife Sara reside in Zionsville, and are the proud parents of 8 children and enjoy their 19 grandchildren. They are members of St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church in Zionsville.

Jane Buroker
Jane Buroker has been on the Caring Center Board since 2011 and currently serves as Secretary. Dr. Buroker is a pediatrician who practices in Zionsville with Witham Health Services. At home, she is married to husband Brady and they have 3 children. She remains committed to the mission of the Caring Center to help those in our community with the resources to help them move out of poverty.

Chip Cravens
Chip Cravens was born in Indianapolis and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agri-Business from the University of Kentucky. He is married to his wife, Lori. Together, they have two married sons and six grandchildren. Now retired, Chip's life has been enriched by his family and his involvement with The Caring Center and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. He enjoys spending time with his loved ones and working on his farm.

Merri Beth Lavagnino
Merri Beth Lavagnino, a proud native of Indiana, joined the board in October 2018. With a robust background in libraries, information technology, compliance, privacy, and risk management. She brings a wealth of expertise insight to our team. You might run into her sorting donations or shopping at Classic Reruns, when she isn’t gardening or petting cats.

Mike Lennox
Mike Lennox has over 30 years of experience in non-profit management and fund raising. Mike is the executive director of Indianapolis Urban Youth Baseball & Softball since 1996.Most recently Mike helped the Friends of Garfield Park as an administrative and fundraising advisor. As a life-long Indianapolis-area resident, he graduated from Pike High School in 1978 and Purdue University in 1982. He currently serves as the treasurer for the Caring Center, the Purdue Chapter of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity Housing Corporation in West Lafayette, the Nickel Plate Heritage Museum in Noblesville and Re-Wilding Indiana, Indiana’s only wildlife hospital. He also serves on the board of the Indy Go Foundation and Sullivan Munce Center in Zionsville.

Tina Schaumberg
Tina, a graduate of Miami University, joined the board in 2011 after ten years of co-managing the Zionsville Food Pantry. She and her husband, Jay, are business owners and have lived in Boone Co. for 33 years. They have three married sons, eight grandchildren and are members of New Hope Christian Church. Tina shares, “I love the way The Caring Center serves those in Boone Co. and I’m thankful to be a part of it.”

Cathy Turner
Cathy is a Butler grad with a degree in business. She’s been involved with the Caring Center for over 20 years. Previously, Cathy was a Guardian Ad Litem in Boone County. She currently serves on the board for both The Caring Center and the Eiteljorg Museum.
