We serve thousands every year through the compassionate care of our volunteers and donors. Our headquarters can receive and store frozen food. If you have extra clothing or food you want to donate, you can contact our staff and we’ll happily direct you.

COVID-19 Information for The Caring Center

We are now seeing families in the food pantry with these guidelines:

  • Take a number from the roll and watch for number to light up in window.
  • Only one person in building per family (no children are allowed in the building at this time).
Hours
  • Monday & Wednesday – 8 am to 2 pm
  • Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday – 11 am to 5 pm
  • Only one person in building per family (no children are allowed in the building at this time).
  • Note: closed on 3rd Tuesday of each month for Mobile Food Pantry
  • Note: closed 4th Thursday of each month for reorganization
  • Note: services stop 30 minutes before the listed closing times
  • First Saturday of each month – 9 am to Noon

The Caring Center

The Caring Center offers a client choice food pantry, which means that families have the flexibility to choose food their family enjoys based around My Plate. Points are given to each family to “spend” on foods that match established nutritional guidelines.

Boone County Mobile Food Pantry

Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Inc. in partnership with The Caring Center provides a once a month mobile food pantry for all Boone County residents.

Many families in our community are suffering from food insecurity. In Indiana, food insecurity affects one in eight families.

The Boone County Mobile Food Pantry is open to all Boone County residents (ID required and one per household, please).

Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, Inc. in partnership with The Caring Center is providing a once a month mobile food pantry, the Boone County Mobile Food Pantry, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 11am to 1 pm and now located at the Boone County Fairgrounds (1300 E 100 S, Lebanon, Indiana 46052) until further notice due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Caring Center has monthly meetings to discuss food issues, help manage food dollars and address participant’s immediate needs.

Cooking Club

The Caring Center partners with the Purdue Extension to provide weekly hands-on group meeting to explore creative ways of cooking and the value of nutrition.

We meet every Wednesday from 11:30 am – 1 pm at The Caring Center.
