Monthly Food Needs

Did you know that the number of people living in food insecure households in the United States in 2023 increased to 47 million, including 14 million children, according to a report released on Sept. 4, 2024 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture? This is an increase from 44 million, including 13 million children from the previous year and the highest rate and number of individuals and children since 2014. Here in Boone County, more than 6% of Boone County is in food insecure situations and our child food insecurity rate is 8.2% or 1,420 children.

Each month we publish a list of items that are deeply needed that month. We have several locations in the community where food pantry donations may be dropped off.

Food Donations

We have several locations in the community where food pantry donations may be dropped off.

1230 Randsdell Court, Lebanon, IN. 46052. Food donations can be dropped off at the first door on the side of the building. We accept both perishable and non-perishable items at this location. 

25 Boone Village, Zionsville , IN. 46077. Non-perishable Food pantry items during business hours. 

10650 Andrade Dr. Zionsville, IN. 46077. (near 106th and Michigan Rd.) Non-perishable food pantry items during business hours. 

1870 W. Oak St., Zionsville, IN. 46077. Non-perishable food pantry items. 

You can purchase online (using your favorite online shopping method) and ship directly to The Caring Center (1230 Ransdell Court, Lebanon, IN. 46052)

There are many months when we need more food than is donated and are forced to go purchase more food. Your monetary donations go a long way in helping to feed our community.

Thanks to Meijer’s generous customers and a strong commitment from their food pantry partners, Meijer’s Simply Give program has continued to be successful in helping to feed hungry families in their local communities. The Meijer Simply Give fall campaign will run through Sept 28, 2024. Meijer will double match any cards purchased on Saturday, Aug. 17 and Sept. 14, effectively tripling contributions made on that day.
